Exchange combo

We had exchanges again this week and we are going to have another  on Wednesday so three weeks in a row.
This week elder Kervin came down to Warsaw with Elder Clinger and I.

Carl has quit smoking and is looking forward to his baptism. We had a lesson with him at a members and we gave him a blessing.

We had an amazing lesson with Natasha the recent convert and her sister Sheena. We taught them about prayer to improve their prayers and Sheena said a very powerful prayer. She didn't make it to church because she got an ear infection which was sad.

We got back in contact with Katelynn, a new investigator who is a single mother of two little girls. She is extraordinarily prepared. She talked to her family about us and had some really great questions for us which lead right into the restoration. It answered all her questions and was a large testimony builder for her. She had prayed just the night before about our message and then we showed up the next evening.

I hope everyone's memorial day is stellar. We got to hear a bunch of war stories in church yesterday from a vet. I've always loved war stories and I and grateful for all the soldiers and the sacrifices.

Sabbath day observance

Pretty normal week. We had exchanges and we had a bunch of lessactives come to church this week.

Carl set a goal for himself to quit smoking on the 25th which is his birthday. This Sunday he tried to not smoke at all and the last time we checked with him he had only smoked three cigarettes.

We got to take the sacrament to a couple people at the hospital including a man that we have been visiting every couple days in the mental health ward. We gave him a couple blessings and the light about him changed a lot as he read the book of Mormon. I hope everything goes well for him.

Elder Gold took a lot of pictures so I don't have to write as much.

Celebration of matriarchs

All the trees have sprouted here so there is flood of green coating the land. While the landscape changes around us we march along endlessly.

We found a lot of people that let us in and we taught them. Some of them have already dropped us. We had a lot of really solid discussions with many people. I'm actually surprised more people didn't come to church.

Sheena who is Natasha's sister came to church finally and Chuck came to church with his kids which was the coolest thing. He is still really busy.
Carl didn't make it to church because his ride never showed up. We still don't know what happened.

I don't have much to say this week though. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

The professional foresters

Trying to make each week sound different is to hard in the confines of language. This week was warm... We had a zone meeting about listening and asking inspired questions. As we have applied it we get to know people so much better and we know how to help them much more.

This Saturday we went down to the bottom of our area. We talked to a lot of Amish people in Pike and then went to Portage for the evening. We ate dinner in a park where I got to mess around on a horse spring thing and a spinning disk thing.

After dinner we were walking and we saw some guys clearing trees so we went to talk to them and so I dropped my tablet and book and started helping them. We were clearing brush and trees for about 2 hours. The mans name was Tor and he is actually from long island. He had the new Yorker accent. He almost never comes out to Portage so we just "happened" to meet him. He was an intruiging guy. He owns the inn in Portage and the house we were working on and he is a attorney and he owns a comic book shop on long island. He had never really learned about anything we talked about. He wanted to read the book of Mormon and he accepted a baptismal invite. All while swinging machetes all hauling trees in white shirts and ties.
He wanted to pay us each 100$ for the work but we told him to just feed the missionaries back on long island haha.
