The hum

This week was approximately 7 days long and anything I add to this is simply vestigial.

We had Elder Bennett come back to our mission which was a miracle. He said he prayed everyday for a couple months that he could come back to visit the missionaries here. When he got his travel itinerary for this quarter he was visiting two places that are surrounding our mission so he asked the first presidency if he could visit us and he said that it got their eyebrows to raise haha. It was a great meeting with him and his wife.

We looked and looked this week but all we found were the barren hearted. I love serving them all the same, we just don't get to continue helping them for long. Got a few people to come out of their house seemingly with balled fists ready to swing, and a few people who are blinded by the craftiness of men. Not much to write about

The Ephraimite reaper

We had a good week. It started off slow but we found some prepared people. It has been interesting to me to get to see people that are incredibly open and they have all the right perspectives and questions to learn more.

One man named Bob we met one night and after talking for a moment he let us right in. He opened up to us about the death of his wife just last November. We talked about God's plan and shared some scriptures from the book of Mormon. He has had some Mormon friends down in the Canandaigua ward for years and so he has heard a little of what we believe. We we're able to go back this Sunday night and teach him the restoration. Most of his questions revolve around God's plan for us. He is so kind and is always trying to feed us more snacks.

On the flip side we met a nice guy named Dave who hands out Anti Mormon material at the hill Cumorah pageant every year... We talked for a little bit and the Spirit was there really strongly. He had some of his own concerns but after we answered them you could feel the Spirit leave as he switched to the normal generic Anti material. We left on friendly terms as always and hopefully someday he will listen to God about his questions.

It's hard to take a picture with an excited husky

Seige on the fortified hearts

Lake Ontario in winter
I just want to start off this email by letting you all know that I am always grateful
for the good things. the littlest to the biggest because size is relative so why not view the world in the largest scope as possible, from the smallest particle organized to the largest galaxy. Some people say it`s all about the little things and I believe that because things that are simple are the most profound. They have the most treasures to dig up and find in the words not said.

Learning to make the expansive things simple is the key to having more little things to treasure.

This week started with getting dropped by Darlene who has settled on going to her Aunts church. She will come around eventually. we found a couple families early in the week. One of them we had a lesson the next day, and after that set up another lesson for the next day and then they dropped us as well. The other family got sick so we are going to stop by sometime this week.

We are working with a middle aged man named Brian. He has a very strong testimony of Jesus Christ and so when the missionaries knocked on his door and said who they were he said comeback another time so they did. He wasnt ready for them then either because he had forgot but he let them in anyways. He really wants to know whether there is only one true church or not. He is out of work and he doesnt have a family of his own. Now that he is getting older everything is getting bland in life. he is getting to the point where we have taught him most of the lessons but he hasnt gotten a confirmation that its all true.

We teaching an 81 year old man named Harold. He is a funny guy but he didn`t make it to church again. He likes to take things slow and get everything out of it. I will keep you posted on him.

picture of us so my mother will stop chastening me
Thats this area for right now.

The northlands

Oy. I'm still doing well. My area is a little north of the town of Palmyra but we go to the church down in Palmyra by the temple. People here are pretty much the same as everywhere else.

My companion got really sick early on the week after I got here. We had to go to the hospital for him and he almost had to get surgery apparently because on an infection. I got a lot of time to study the scriptures. The investigators we are working with here are pretty awesome

We got the police called on us once already because we were out finding in the dark.

We had a awesome experience with a lady who is investigating the church. Her name is Darlene and she is in her 70s. We called her earlier in the week to set up a day to meet and she basically told us she was going to join her aunts church. We went to the lesson with a senior Elder who works at the sites and we taught a little about families and temples. She has a testimony of Joseph Smith and the book of Mormon. I guess we kind of taught a mini restoration but we really just talked about priesthood authority and why God works through order and structure that He organized. It was really powerful and she has a lot of things to ponder. We gave her as simple and plain of a choice as possible.

Elder Erickson the senior elder went out knocking doors with us and I learned a lot from him. He knows Frank Rudy who lives two doors down from my parents which is cool.

I hope everyone is doing well.
